Evaluate

The Cluster edition of Zetavault is only available to commercial users.

This includes businesses, government, educational and non-profit organizations.

Requirements - Basic Two Node Setup

These nodes combine both the controller and storage node roles.

Two nodes are required.

  1. X86-64 server
  2. Single HDD or SSD for OS installation
  3. Hardware RAID controller for the cluster storage
  4. 40/56 Gigabit InfiniBand adapter or 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet adapter[1]
  5. Zetavault “Cluster Edition” license

Recommended server: 2U rackmount with at least 8 drive bays
Recommended memory: 32GB or more.
Recommended CPU: Intel Xeon.
Recommended RAID controller: LSI/Avago.

Requirements - Switch Based Setup

Controller Nodes

At least one controller node. Two controller nodes to test migration and failover.
The controller nodes run ZFS and export the storage to the network clients.
The Zetavault OS can be installed on a small SSD. No further storage is required on the controller nodes.

  3. 40/56 Gigabit InfiniBand adapter or 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet adapter[1]
  4. Zetavault “Cluster Edition” license

Recommended server: 2U rackmount
Recommended memory: 32GB or more.
Recommended CPU: Intel Xeon.

Storage Nodes

At least one storage node. Install storage nodes in pairs for replication.
The storage nodes do not run ZFS. A minimum amount of memory is required.

  1. X86-64 server
  2. Single hard disk or SSD for OS installation
  3. Hardware RAID controller for the controller node storage
  4. 40/56 Gigabit InfiniBand adapter or 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet adapter[1]
  5. Zetavault “Node Edition” license

Recommended server: 2U rackmount with at least 8 drive bays
Recommended memory: 4GB.
Recommended CPU: Intel Xeon.
Recommended RAID controller: LSI/Avago.

InfiniBand Switch

If using InfiniBand for the node interconnect.

  1. 40 or 56 Gigabit InfiniBand switch
  2. InfiniBand cabling for the controller and storage nodes

We recommend Mellanox InfiniBand switches and adapters.

Ethernet Switch

If using Ethernet for the node interconnect.

  1. 10 or 40 Gigabit Ethernet switch[1]
  2. Ethernet cabling for the controller and storage nodes

We recommend Intel adapters but we support anything that works with Linux.
