Zetastack provides high availability as standard for cluster based setups.
The pool storage on each node is distributed and replicated across the cluster.
This is a replacement for traditional SANs - which are expensive in HA configurations.
The storage is fault tolerant in the event of node failure.
A minimum of 3 nodes is required for cluster setups.
VMs are automatically load balanced between the nodes in the cluster.
In the event of node failure, the VMs on the failed node are automatically restarted on the other nodes.
Zetastack uses hardware fencing to remove a failed node from the cluster.
IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) is used to power off the failed node.
IPMI is supported by more than 200 system vendors, including Cisco, Dell, HPE, Intel, Supermicro and Tyan.
