So what's new in the latest release?
We've added Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) target support to the SAN.
Plus we've added FCoE interface management in Settings SAN. Easily create FCoE interfaces from your 10 and 40 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
You'll need an Ethernet switch that supports FCoE. You can also connect point-to-point, in which case a switch is not required.
We can do now replication in dual node HA setups over 10 Gigabit and 40 Gigabit Ethernet.
You are no longer required to use InfiniBand, though we still recommend InfiniBand over Ethernet because it has lower latency and higher throughput.
Previously each S&R job would run in series. A job would only start once the previous one has completed.
Now you can run multiple jobs at the same time. You can run up to 8 jobs in parallel.
If your storage hardware is fast enough, then this is a really quick way of backing up the datasets.
We've also added some new S&R service options in Settings Storage. This includes timeouts and log rotation.
We first introduced Wizards in 3.21. In the latest release, we've added 9 new ones.
For ZFS, we now have a wizard to create a new pool and a wizard to import ZFS pools.
The SAN configuration can now be done through the SAN Target wizard. You can run this wizard again and again without disrupting the running SAN.
NFS configuration can be done with the NFS Export wizard.
For HA setups, we have added a total of 5 wizards to configure storage controllers, head controllers, storage nodes and Failover.
For now, we are hoping for a break from coding wizards.
